Enjoy the comforts of the Maharajas’ Express, as we roll our way across Rajasthan and beyond. Along the way, admire the palaces of former royals and other regional treasures. Our group will be accompanied by our own local guide, while this journey of convenience also ensures we bypass India’s busy roads and crowded airports.

WELCOME TO TIGER TERRITORY
Enjoy multiple game drives in three celebrated national parks in India and Sri Lanka. Keep watch for sloth bears and chital deer within Ranthambore National Park, while Royal Bengal tigers prowl their way across Panna National Park. Sri Lanka’s Yala National Park boasts the highest leopard density in the world. We also keep watch for elephants, samba deer and grey langur monkeys.
GRAND MONUMENTS OF MARBLE & STONE
Admire the Taj Mahal, Agra’s awe-inspiring symbol of love, up close during a tour. The 17th-century masterpiece of white marble was crafted by more than 20,000 workers. In Jaipur, gaze upon the revered Amber Fort, the sprawling hilltop palace a fine blend of Rajput and Mughal architectural styles.
CULTURAL COLOMBO
Take a guided walk of Sri Lanka’s capital, discovering its monuments, architecture, and thriving marketplace. We also meet a renowned Sri Lankan cricketer at the Sinhalese Sports Club and enjoy an evening of Sri Lankan dance and culture.
HERITAGE OF GALLE
Best known for its historic Galle Fort, the coastal city of Galle retains the influence of successive empires. At Villa Mayurana, we learn about the cultivation and harvesting of cinnamon during a demonstration. And witness the region’s famous stilt fishermen, perched high upon their wooden poles.
RESIDENCES OF THE HIGHEST STANDARD
LEELA PALACE, NEW DELHI
The first two nights of our journey are spent at Leela Palace in New Delhi. Its grand marble foyer leads to the ambient haven of The Library Bar, while a rooftop infinity pool provides city panoramas. Rooms are elegantly furnished and feature either city or garden views.
MAHARAJAS' EXPRESS
Over four nights, we absorb enchanting scenery while travelling aboard the Maharajas’ Express. Alight each day to engage with India’s cultural and natural wonders, then enjoy the fine cuisine and hospitality of the train’s two themed restaurants.
OBEROI RAJGARH PALACE, KHAJURAHO
Nestled within the Maniyagarh Hills, the architectural splendour of the Oberoi Rajgarh Palace is a sight to behold. Our Palace Rooms feature private terraces, taking pride of place along the uppermost corners of this stately residence.
GALLE FACE HOTEL, COLOMBO
Gaze out to the Indian Ocean from your Junior Suite Balcony Sea View room. The Galle Face Hotel is a Sri Lankan landmark, situated on the edge of the Galle Face Green. One of Asia’s oldest hotels, it retains its majestic style while lacking nothing in sophistication.
UGA CHENA HUTS, YALA NATIONAL PARK
Our safari adventures in Yala National Park are complemented by a two-night stay at the waterfront Uga Chena Huts. Relax within your spacious Luxury Cabin, which features a private plunge pool set within a large outdoor deck. Spectacular views of the verdant surrounds can also be admired courtesy of your cabin’s expansive windows.
AMANGALLA, GALLE
For our final two nights, we stay at Amangalla, within the historic Galle Fort. The wonderfully restored property retains its heritage feel, thanks to Aman’s tasteful execution. The palm-lined outdoor swimming pool provides a tranquil escape, while our suites enjoy outlooks onto the garden or the fort’s historic ramparts.
