AN ABUNDANCE OF OPULENT HOTELS IN INDIA
A land of overwhelming spirit and energy, India is a destination that provides travellers with immersive cultural experiences, while also offering an abundance of opulent accommodation. The palatial suites and superior service of each distinctive residence enhances our journey, as we traverse India’s many contrasting regions.
When it comes to selecting destinations for our Private Jet journeys, the standard of accommodation is a key factor. Captain’s Choice Head of Product Michael McCall explains his approach when developing an itinerary like The Spirit & Colours of India by Private Jet.
“There are stunning palace and villa style residences all over India. In my opinion, these represent the very best while they are also befitting of the exclusive nature of the private jet itinerary. Luxury aside, these residences are also ideally located in the best positions from which to explore each region.”
While accommodation is always of great importance, the selection of each destination on a Private Jet itinerary also requires careful consideration. Particularly in India, where attempting to see all the key highlights within a limited time frame can sometimes prove challenging.
“Having travelled through India on multiple occasions, I know how important the location of each hotel can be. Finding the right accommodation can help to reduce the amount of time spent in congested traffic, while also leaving us with time to enjoy the hotel’s facilities. The properties we have selected on this itinerary are close to each vibrant city, yet each one offers a sense of peace and seclusion.”
In fact, the hotels themselves often prove to be highlights. Nowhere is this better demonstrated than in India, where grand palaces occupy privileged positions near some of the country’s most historic sights. Michael explains:
OBEROI AMARVILLAS
“The Oberoi Amarvillas in Agra is the only property with views of the Taj Mahal. During our stay, our premier balcony rooms take full advantage of this."
BRIJRAMA PALACE
“In Varanasi, we have sole use of the BrijRama Palace, located on the edge of the Ganges, and close to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple."
LEELA PALACE & TAJ MALABAR RESORT AND SPA
“Leela Palace in Chennai and Taj Malabar Resort & Spa in Kochi both have wonderful gardens overlooking the sea."
TAJ LAKE PALACE
“My personal favourite is the Taj Lake Palace in Udaipur. This iconic hotel and historic grand palace is located on its own island. It’s very rare that you can stay in a former summer palace of the Royal Dynasty of Mewar, that has also been featured in a James Bond movie. It’s located on its own island in the middle of Lake Pichola, yet is only 1km from the city."
Accommodation aside, you’ll also be spoilt for choice with the many Your World Experiences available during your journey. Michael considers the rickshaw ride through the streets of Jaipur one not to miss.
“This is a must do at any time of the year, but as we will be there during Diwali, the streets will be even more vibrant and alive than usual.”
You can experience all the comforts of these accommodations and more on The Spirit & Colours of India by Private Jet. Departing 27 October 2026 & 18 October 2027.
