Explore enchanting towns and cities by day and take advantage of the train’s amenities each night. Our rail journey is shared with our fellow Danube Express passengers.

Arrive effortlessly into celebrated centres of culture. Alight the train each day to explore such historic cities as Warsaw, Berlin, Prague, Salzburg, and Vienna. Celebrate the inspired visions of artists and architects. Stroll along enchanting riversides. And admire the grandeur of castles and palaces.
A STUDY IN HISTORY
Throughout our tour, several of the 20th-century’s most consequential events are examined. In Poland, we proceed through the grounds and museum of the infamous Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. While in Germany, we see one of the remaining sections of the Berlin Wall, visit the Checkpoint Charlie Museum, and discover the city of Dresden.
MOUNTAINOUS MARVELS OF ENGINEERING
During the final day of our rail journey, we cross Austria’s Semmering Pass. The Golden Eagle Danube Express navigates a succession of towering bridges and extensive tunnels along this iconic mountain railway, as we make our approach to Vienna.
CULTURAL EXPLORATIONS OF BUDAPEST
Prior to our rail journey, we begin with an immersive three-night stay in Budapest. Explore the grounds of City Park and historic Castle Hill. Enjoy a tour of Esterházy Palace or acquaint yourself with the tastes and traditions of Haraszthy Winery.
TREASURES OF VIENNA
Our journey concludes with three nights in the Austrian capital. Over two full days, optional experiences may see you roaming the halls of the opulent Hof Palace. Admiring views of the Wachau Valley from Melk Abbey. Taking in the works of the Austrian masters. Or marvelling at the whimsical facades of Hundertwasser Village.
