A thoroughly modern metropolis, Jeddah presents us with all the sensory stimulus offered by any other large harbourside city. Its most historic neighbourhood, Al-Balad shows another side to the region, with its intricate network of laneways and high-density living.  

After Mecca itself, Medina is considered Islam’s holiest city. We arrive by high-speed train, before heading to the grand Al Masjid an-Nabawi mosque. The vast complex, which can accommodate up to a million worshippers, makes for an incredible sight as we arrive in time to witness evening prayers.  

Look upon the exquisite rock structures on display within the archaeological site of Hegra, including the grandest monument of all, Qasr al-Farid. Enjoy these desert spectacles up close during a tour. Return later for your choice of aerial perspectives, by helicopter or hot air balloon.  

Within the capital, Riyadh, we admire the graceful aesthetics of the Najdi architectural style. The enchanting, largely mudbrick structures are in evidence within the country’s cultural capital, Diriyah. Its elements can also be seen across Masmak Fort’s grand exterior. The towering and modern Kingdom Centre, meanwhile, stands in dramatic and thrilling contrast.
