20 Days Ocean Voyages

Exotic. Enduring. Enthralling. The eastern seas of the Asian continent have compelled travellers for centuries. As land forms across the horizon, we are entranced by sublime landscapes. Bamboo groves, smouldering volcanoes, snowcapped mountains. Yet it is only by venturing further inland and uncovering a timelessness found between the silver cities and ancient temples and shrines, that we are truly embraced.

We land in Singapore, where Raffles Singapore is our residence for one night. On a Your World Experience, choose between a sightseeing tour through the Lion City, or a stroll through the National Orchid Garden. Since the early 1900s, Raffles Singapore has been mixing Singapore Slings with an unchanged recipe. We can concoct our own version at a master class. It’s time to take to the water where the Silver Muse awaits.

Approaching Vietnamese shores, we head inland to Ho Chi Minh City. Your World experiences gift us new perspectives on this helter-skelter city. Our voyage continues north to Chân Mây Port, where we are perfectly positioned to spend time exploring central Vietnam, from the ancient walls of Hue, to cooking classes in Hoi An and the caves, temples and beaches found within the Marble Mountains of Da Nang.

Our time in Hong Kong begins with an ANZAC service, before we delight in a choice between two Your World experiences. Hugging China’s coastline, the Silver Muse is northbound for Shanghai. Enjoy one of the following Your World experiences while here. Journey to the city’s oldest temple to meet the resident monks. Wander through the old town of Shanghai and visit a local family. Or, enjoy VIP access to Shanghai Tower’s world-first damper system.

Our vessel pulls into Nagasaki, which resonates in historical significance. Feel the weight of the city’s devastating history at the Nagasaki Peace Memorial. At Shimabara Peninsula, stumble across simmering volcanoes and steamy hot springs. Or, venture to the porcelain town of Arita, where Japan’s most prestigious trade has been exported since the 17th century. We go ashore to Kagoshima on Kyusha Island with time to explore independently.

Upon disembarkation, we drive to Hakone. On the clearest of days, Mt Fuji will make its appearance and we hope to enjoy this spectacle during a cable car ride. Our time here is spent at the Conrad Tokyo. At Hamarikyu Gardens, see traditional Edo period design and be wished good fortune by priests conducting a Shinto blessing at Meiji Shrine. Choose between three Your World Experiences before Japanese delicacies are savoured at La Rochelle.
