Tour Manager - Suzanne Higman

As Your Tour Manager, Suzanne Higman Welcomes You On This Journey

On arrival, we are acquainted with the Chilean capital on a panoramic drive along wide avenues, before settling in to Hotel Magnolia. Crowning our first evening, we taste delicacies from Chile’s natural larder at Rodolfo Guzmán’s Boragó. The following day is dedicated to tasting the wines of the Maipo Valley. Nestled between the Andes and the coast, the region is lauded as the ‘Bordeaux of South America’.

Our morning flight tracks due south across the plains of Patagonia to Punta Arenas on the Strait of Magellan. We attend a briefing by our Antarctic Expedition Team at the Dreams Hotel, the night’s resting place. In the morning, we bypass the Drake Passage and instead fly to a military airbase on King George Island, where a Zodiac takes us to our waiting expedition ship.

Each day, as the World Explorer navigates Antarctic waters, our ship’s Captain will chart a flexible route based on weather conditions. When conditions are right, Zodiacs will be lowered into the sea, ready to take us past calving glaciers and icebergs, to penguin and seal colonies, and to sites like the former whaling outpost of Deception Island. During our time, we are even invited to an exclusive onboard cocktail event.

We bid farewell to our Expedition Team and disembark the World Explorer at King George Island, where our aircraft is waiting to once again whisk us over the Drake Passage. Landing back in Punta Arenas, the Dreams Hotel awaits our return. After a leisurely first morning and the luxury of a late check-out, it’s on to the airport to board our LATAM Airlines flight bound for Buenos Aires. Settle in for two nights at Mio Buenos Aires.

We fortify ourselves with an Argentine steak lunch at Fervor restaurant, ready to discover the sultry highlights of Buenos Aires. Wander Recoleta’s wide boulevards and the back streets of La Boca to Teatro Colon, before a Farewell Dinner at Rojo Tango. With a free day at hand, perhaps join a Your World experience to the waterside town of Tigre. Your tour concludes this afternoon.
