As Your Tour Manager, Gordon Higman Welcomes You On This Journey

In London, you will be met and transferred to The Londoner on Leicester Square. Enjoy the hotel’s facilities this afternoon before we gather for our Welcome Dinner. Meet your fellow travellers and share in the anticipation of the thrilling days to follow.

After breakfast at our hotel, we transfer to Stansted Airport’s private jet terminal. Here we board our business class private jet for a mid-morning flight to Tórshavn, capital of the Faroe Islands. A gourmet lunch is served on board the two-hour flight. On arrival in our remote location, on the island of Streymoy, we make our way to the cliffs of Vestmanna. Boarding a boat, we cruise close to rugged rock faces, and within concealed grottoes, listening for the squawking of nesting seabirds, including skuas, kittiwakes and fulmars.

Following our cruise, we retreat to Hotel Føroyar, whose grass-covered roofs allow it to merge with the landscape. At nearby Hotel Hafnia, we dine at its Restaurant Panorama, which grants us extensive views across the harbour. After a meal of locally inspired dishes, we return to Hotel Føroyar for the evening.

Make the most of our time on the Faroe Islands with one of these Your World experiences:

— Continue your exploration of Streymoy during a visit to the tiny village of Tjørnuvik. Then, on the edge of the neighbouring island, Eysturoy, look upon the curiously cast sea stacks, the Giant and the Witch. After a hike of the island’s highest mountain, pay a visit to the charming village of Gjógy.
— Traverse the sea between the two islands by way of a tunnel, which boasts a luminous undersea roundabout. Dubbed the ‘jellyfish’, the marvel of engineering features a blue central pillar and is further illuminated by a series of red and green lights. At the southern edge of the island, we discover the Navia sheep farm, which produces garments for the Faroese yarn and sweater industry. Upon your return to Streymoy, enjoy a walk through Tórshavn’s Old Town, delighting in the traditional grass-covered roofs of its black-tarred wooden houses.

Following lunch at a local restaurant, we continue to Gasadalur, on the adjacent island of Vágar. Here, we see the striking Múlafossur waterfall, which plummets off a cliff face directly into the Atlantic. From Vágar’s airport, we rejoin our private jet for the flight to Iceland. In Reykjavík, the Canopy by Hilton welcomes us.

In Iceland, select from the following Your World experiences:

Visit the country’s second largest glacier, Langjökull. Journey along the white slopes of the ‘long glacier’ by Super Jeep and venture inside man-made ice tunnels.
Enter a volcano for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. After completing a 1.5 km walk before spectacular scenery, you’ll be gradually lowered into the lava chamber of Thrihnukagigur aboard an open cable lift. On reaching the surface of the interior, your expert guides will detail the inner workings and geology of the dormant volcano.
Take your seat at Lava Show and be mesmerised as your host harnesses the power of molten lava, heated to 1,100°C, during the recreation of a volcanic eruption. Then, at FlyOver Iceland, sit before a 20-metre spherical screen and give yourself over to a diverse range of thrilling simulated experiences. Soar over icy peaks, gushing waterfalls, and boundless seas, all without leaving your seat. Then visit Aurora Reykjavík, an interactive museum that serves as an ideal introduction to the northern lights.

Today, we explore the Golden Circle Route, comprising Thingvellir National Park, the Gullfoss waterfalls, and the Geysir geothermal area. These spectacular natural wonders provide a further glimpse into the region’s remarkable geology. Close by, visit Fridheimar Farm and sample the local tomato schnapps. Our day concludes with a special dining experience at Ingólfsskáli Viking Restaurant. Enter the Viking longhouse and take your place at one of its long wooden tables. In this grand setting, before wooden carvings and animal hides, we taste traditional Icelandic cuisine, while quenching our thirst courtesy of ornate drinking horns.

This morning, you have the option to visit the famous Blue Lagoon. Absorb its mineral-rich waters, responsible for the lagoon’s otherworldly hue. Sooth your tired muscles and take advantage of the indoor pool and geothermal sauna, which are also on the site. You may instead choose to spend the morning at leisure.

We then transfer to the airport for our private jet flight to Greenland. Enjoy a gourmet lunch on board as we fly due west. Upon touching down in the capital, Nuuk, we check into Hotel Hans Egede. Our accommodation hosts us for dinner this evening.

Begin your day with a choice of these morning Your World experiences:

— Your guide will impart their knowledge of the region and its landmarks during a tour. Then visit the Greenland National Museum, where Inuit and Thule history and culture are detailed through a series of artefacts.
— Kayak Nuuk’s rugged shoreline, gaining rare perspectives of colourful houses and soaring mountainsides. Paddle along tranquil fjords, keeping an eye out for seabirds.

Following lunch at Katuaq Cultural Centre, embark upon further discoveries, courtesy of these Your World experiences:

— Set out on a moderately challenging hike across the hinterland. Navigate trails along rocky outcrops and lush valleys, taking in views of fjords, distant glaciers and the vast Arctic wilderness.
— Cruise to the abandoned settlement of Kangeq, stepping ashore to discover deserted buildings that serve as weathered remnants of the past. Hear about the lives and traditions of the people who once lived in this rugged and remote environment.

Following our respective adventures, we reconvene in Nuuk for dinner.

After breakfast at our hotel, Your World experiences reveal the region’s crafts and culture:

— Visit a local handicraft workshop to see beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces, from intricate beadwork and carvings to hand-sewn clothing.
— At a local workshop, meet master craftsmen and learn about the crucial role the kayak – or qajaq – has played in the survival and history of the Inuit people.

After lunch at a local restaurant, more Your World experiences await:

— Join a cruise and whale safari. Keep watch for breaching whales as your expert guide provides insights into the rich marine life inhabiting these waters.
— Set out on an exhilarating deep-sea fishing adventure along Greenland’s breathtaking fjords. Your guide will share local fishing techniques and insights into the marine life thriving beneath the icy surface.

At Qooqqut Nuan, a remote restaurant on the edge of the fjord, enjoy a memorable dinner before cruising back to Nuuk.

Our private jet transports us across the Norwegian Sea to Evenes, in Norway, with lunch served in-flight. On our arrival in Norway, we take the road, following soaring mountain ranges and rugged coastlines on our way to Svolvær, capital of the Lofoten Islands. Reaching our destination in the early evening, we check into Thon Hotel Lofoten and dine at our choice of the nearby restaurants.

Following breakfast, we head to Svolvær’s harbour, where we board a boat for a cruise of awe-inspiring Trollfjord. As we head further up the fjord, keep watch for the area’s majestic sea eagles. During the cruise, we also learn about the history of the region, including the great influence that Vikings had here. Our blending of present and past escalates as we sit down to a Viking feast at Lofotr Viking Museum. Through stories, song and dance, our appreciation for Viking history increases further still. The rest of our afternoon is enjoyed at leisure back in Svolvær. This evening, local delicacies are on the menu at a nearby restaurant, before we’re granted a private visit to nearby Lofoten Cathedral.

Today, our travels take us to the southern tip of Austvågøya, the island which harbours Svolvær, as well as this morning’s destination, Henningsvær. Get to know this traditional fishing village as we depart on a walking tour of the area. Over lunch, we hear tales of the archipelago’s fishing culture while tasting the local specialty, stockfish. On our way back to Svolvær, we stop in at Lofoten Glass to see an expert glassblower in action. While here, you will also have the opportunity to create your own one-off masterpiece. We toast our grand adventure during our Farewell Dinner this evening.

After a final breakfast in Norway, we rejoin our private jet at Evenes’ airport. Our pilot charts a course south, as we enjoy lunch on board. Before long, we arrive at London Stansted Airport. Contemplate all that we have seen during this special private jet journey.
