The Ultimate African Safari by Private Jet - Cairo to Capetown 2019 Map US

No other earthly event embodies the struggle of life on such a scale. The Great Migration is, at its heart, a year-long procession of wildebeest – one that compels them to walk from the Serengeti to the Maasai Mara and back, where it begins all over again.

Crowding the Maasai Mara from Cairo to Cape Town, Departs 29 Sep 2019

Partake in a private viewing of the Egyptian Museum’s treasures; pay homage to the Pyramids of Giza; take a camel ride to the Sphinx; lunch at Amir Taz Palace; and visit the Citadel of Cairo. An exclusive Welcome Dinner in desert tents at the pyramids rounds out our visit.

The ancient treasures of Luxor are revealed to us as we cruise the River Nile, before the Temple of Ramesses III is reserved exclusively for us for a special dinner.

By light aircraft we visit Lalibela. See churches hand-carved from rock, attend a ritual usually reserved for heads of state and be hosted by the mayor for a traditional lunch.

Crowding the Maasai Mara, Departs 30 Sep 2019

Flying in by light aircraft, we’ve timed our visit for the Great Migration and the chance to spot the Big Five – lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard. From a hot air balloon ride at sunrise and daytime 4WD safaris, to a Maasai-led visit at a secret hilltop viewing spot for sundowners, our three-night stay at Angama Mara offers an authentic insight into the wildlife and culture of the Maasai Mara.

Depending on the chosen departure date, an amazing experience awaits in either the Serengeti or Maasai Mara

A trek in search of golden monkeys and time sitting with mountain gorillas are but two of the wildlife highlights.

From the only lodge within the park, we set out on skimmer boats and 4WD safaris seeking elephants, hippopotami, buffalo, giraffe, impala and crocodiles.

By helicopter, boat and on a historian-guided walk, we enjoy several encounters with this natural spectacle.

From Pretoria to Cape Town, a private rail journey takes us across the grasslands of the Highveld, via the barren Karoo region and through the mountains of the Cape.

In Cape Town options abound, including a helicopter flight, a cable car ride up Table Mountain and a visit to Mandela’s old cell. Incredible dining also awaits, including an exclusive dinner at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa.

Our journey concludes today.
