From Darwin, we are transferred to the Adina Apartment Hotel Waterfront Darwin. Settle in as the anticipation builds for the beginning of our adventure, then get to know your fellow guests during a Welcome Dinner.

After breakfast at our hotel, we split into two smaller groups. Half of our guests enjoy an adventure in the Tiwi Islands. Our remaining guests, meanwhile, head out to explore Darwin before making the journey to Bamurru Plains. 

Our first group boards a private charter flight to the Bathurst Island hub of Wurrumiyanga. Following a traditional welcome, we delve into the region’s rich history with an Indigenous arts and cultural experience. Our private plane then delivers us to the remote Tiwi Island Retreat. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon before dining beneath the glow of the moon and stars.

Our second group begins an equally exciting day. Following a tour of Darwin, we head to the airport for a tour of the Royal Flying Doctor Service hangar. After our visit, we climb aboard one of their aircraft for our flight to Bamurru Plains, our secluded home on the edge of Kakadu National Park. Here, we learn of the range of experiences on offer from our hosts. You might like to look out for saltwater crocodiles while gliding across the floodplains by airboat. Alternatively, embark a cruise along the Sampan River. Of course, you are also welcome to simply relax with a refreshing dip in our lodge’s infinity pool. The chance to spot diverse local wildlife, including brumbies, buffaloes, dingoes and wallabies, on a game drive or guided walk is also on offer. Toast the day with a nourishing meal that incorporates fresh locally sourced produce, offering an authentic taste of the Top End.

Today is reserved for each group to enjoy the natural wonders of their respective destinations. 

Those in our Tiwi Islands group may like to embark a boat to discover secluded fishing spots along the estuary. You may prefer to join a blue water fishing adventure at your own expense. Of course, you could always surrender to the beauty of the retreat itself, relaxing by the pool and taking the day at your own pace. This evening, savour the gourmet creations of our award-winning chef or sample canapes before the warmth of a roaring bonfire on the beach. 

Our Bamurru Plains guests also have a broad range of activities to choose from, including airboat safaris, game drives and guided walks. All of the available activities allow you to explore this vast property, while appreciating it from diverse perspectives. Later, return to our idyllic Safari Bungalows for a relaxing evening overlooking the lively floodplains.

Following breakfast, our two groups swap properties as we continue our Top End journey.

Those at Bamurru Plains have the day at leisure. Choose to relax and enjoy the amenities of our lodge or head out on a game drive, guided walk or airboat safari. 

Guests in the Tiwi Islands receive a traditional welcome at Wurrumiyanga, before heading to our resort and choosing from the broad range of available activities set along its stunning stretch of coastline. This morning, Tiwi Islands guests check out of Tiwi Island Resort, flying directly to Darwin.  

Bamurru Plains guests also check out this morning, flying aboard a Royal Flying Doctor Service aircraft. On arrival in Darwin, enjoy a tour of the service’s aircraft hangar.

Our two groups reconvene for lunch before taking the afternoon at leisure. You may like to explore Darwin on your own terms, or perhaps just relax at our hotel. 

This evening, enjoy a Farewell Dinner, while recalling your favourite experiences of our journey with your fellow guests and Tour Hosts.

Our incredible adventure in the Top End comes to a close as we make our way to the airport this morning.
