Discover the secluded shores of remote islands during this expedition cruise aboard Silversea’s Silver Cloud. We immerse ourselves in the pristine paradise of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands; swimming, snorkelling and hiking in between each day’s gradual northerly sailing. JAPAN'S DIVERSE ISLAND EXPERIENCES
Marvel at Miyajima’s water-dwelling, vermilion torii gate. See the birdlife inhabiting the tiny island of Tori-shima. And submerge yourself in the hot springs of Oshima Island. While the island of Shikoku offers a wealth of optional, cultural experiences.
THE GRANDEUR OF KOCHI CASTLE
Kochi Castle is one of Japan’s original 12 castles and has been designated as an Important Cultural Property. Enter via the Otemon Gate and see the former living quarters of the feudal lord, as well as the six floors of the castle tower.
FIX YOUR GAZE UPON FUJI
Look upon the colossal form of Mount Fuji from the waterfront of Miho no Matsubara. This beach within the city of Shimizu provides the perfect setting from which to capture Japan’s icon in all its glory.
GARGANTUAN GUARDIANS OF THE FOREST
On remote Yakushima Island, flourishing forests are populated by towering Yakusugi cedar trees. During a choice of walks, we take in various perspectives of the island and its ancient trees, many of which are said to be more than 1,000 years old. The World Heritage site is also replete with waterfalls and wildlife.
