A Rare Antarctic Expedition
OVERVIEW
This once-in-a-lifetime expedition sees us flying to Antarctica, where we traverse terrain that few will ever reach. During our seven-night stay in a comfortable guest house, we witness the daily lives of emperor penguins, explore the surreal Drygalski Mountains, and navigate a blue-tinged ice tunnel. This rare adventure is possible only a few times a year and is reserved for only eight guests.

Plane & Land Exploration
Antarctic Immersions
Discover awe-inspiring sites inaccessible to other travellers. Admire the Drygalski Mountains, an impressive range within Queen Maud Land. Explore the surreal, blue interiors of the Ice Tunnel. Weave your way along the frozen corridors of the Ice Wall. And prepare for breathtaking photo opportunities of glaciers, unique rock formations, and penguin colonies.
Soar Over the Southern Ocean
Meet your expedition leader and warm up for our Antarctic expedition with three nights at Cape Town’s Cape Grace Hotel. Then board a specially equipped cargo plane for the flight to Antarctica, accompanied by your expert guides. Following our Antarctic experience, we return to Cape Town for an additional night.
A Warm Stay in a Cold Land
Stay seven nights at the Oasis Guest House, along the largely ice-free Schirmacher Oasis. Relax in the lounge, which looks directly onto the white landscapes beyond. Meals are comparable to what you might expect in one of Cape Town’s lodges, while a fine selection of South African wines is also on hand.
Emperor Penguin Colonies
We fly to the Astrid and Lazarev North emperor penguin colonies, accompanied by expert ornithologist Peter Ryan. Keeping a respectful distance, we observe these exquisite creatures going about their daily activity in their natural habitat. Peter will also provide expert presentations on the emperor penguin.
Travelling Within Antarctica
We travel to our key sightseeing destinations aboard ski-equipped, eight-seater Twin Otter aircraft, accompanied by a pilot and co-pilot, and two experienced guides. Everyone will enjoy a window seat on these flights, which will generally take around an hour for each leg.
Hosted by Expedition Leader, David Sinclair
A Director of the Antarctic Science Foundation, David Sinclair is also an award-winning photographer and expedition leader who has travelled to Antarctica many times. David personally scouted all the sites we will visit during our journey and is acutely aware of our responsibility to tread lightly.

ITINERARY
The order of touring will be largely dictated by the weather conditions. Given our very small group size, the expert knowledge of our guides, and the ample time allocated, our flexible itinerary will make for an unrepeatable and thoroughly rewarding experience.
