What better way to embrace Australia’s vast Outback than by taking to the skies by private plane. On a weekend like no other, we take in views of the Marree Man and Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre, bypassing boundaries with our fellow guests and carefully considered crew.
The Ease Of Private Charter With No More Than 48 Guests
Our private Economy Class plane proves ideal for outback sightseeing. Only 48 Captain's Choice guests will fly between far-flung destinations, taking advantage of direct routes not offered on commercial airline schedules.
Marree Man and Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre Flyovers
We fly over the mysterious Marree Man, viewed best from the air, and the vast beauty of Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre. Nature will dictate whether the latter will be in flood, though the views of Australia’s largest river basin impress regardless.

Breeze Into Broken Hill
Our brief foray in this frontier mining town includes a visit to the Royal Flying Doctor Service, before we visit the Line of Lode Lookout and Miners Memorial, dedicated to those who lost their lives in Broken Hill’s mines.

Unearth The Gems Of Coober Pedy
In the opal mining capital of the world, our party dines underground while staying at the Desert Cave Hotel. Perhaps choose to sleep underground in a dug-out-style room.
Fly In For Lunch at the Birdsville Hotel
The Birdsville Hotel is renowned the world over as the quintessential Australian outback pub. Our private plane touches down nearby, allowing us to celebrate our outback adventure with a barbecue lunch – and to enjoy a beer at the bar, of course.

Our luggage is light, and so are our spirits, as we board our private aircraft and set off for a weekend sojourn. Touching down in Broken Hill, we discover what makes this frontier town’s heart tick with visits to the Royal Flying Doctor Service, the Line of Lode Lookout and Miners Memorial. Next is lunch at a place inextricably linked with an unlikely outback icon – the Palace Hotel, where scenes from the hit film The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert were filmed. We then take to the skies once more, flying over the mysterious Marree Man figure before landing in Coober Pedy. Here we’re granted entrée to the town’s subterranean lifestyle, with visits to places of work and worship, before toasting our return to the surface with a sunset drink at Kanku-Breakaways Conservation Park. Dinner is served underground at the Desert Cave Hotel, where we also stay tonight.
Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre, Birdsville Hotel, Brisbane or Melbourne
Bidding adieu to the world’s opal mining capital, we once again board our private aircraft and ponder the magnitude of Australia’s largest salt lake from above. If in flood, the area will be teeming with life, but if not, the overview of the ancient desert river basin is equally wondrous. Continuing across outback skies, we touch down in Birdsville and make our way to the iconic Birdsville Hotel, where the locals fire up the barbecue in welcome. Following a relaxed lunch, and an accompanying beer or two, we farewell our new-found friends and prepare for our journey home.
