Your World Hosts are made up of a Tour Manager, Tour Hosts, Tour Doctor, English-speaking local guides and experts including sommeliers and academics, among others.

Gordon Higman

Gordon has clocked up over 90 countries during his years of travelling. Joining our team in 2007, he is always on the lookout for the next adventure and keen to secure exclusive moments for our guests. Gordon’s favourite destination is Laos, for its people, food and remote landscapes. His most memorable moment with Captain’s Choice was the helicopter flight around Rio’s ‘Christ the Redeemer’ statue, then landing on Sugarloaf Mountain for a glass of champagne at sunset.

Suzanne Higman

Suzanne’s thirst for travel has seen her journey to more than 90 countries, joining the Captain's Choice team in 2008. Suzanne’s favourite destination is Africa, for its diversity, natural beauty, and wildlife. While her most memorable Captain’s Choice moment was listening to four pure voices singing hymns within the cave church of Armenia’s Geghard Monastery, during what was a tear-inducing encounter.

Richard Moras

Tour Manager Richard Moras worked in the airline industry for 23 years, and is now semi-retired. He has a passion for African wildlife, travel photography, skiing and travelling on remote and exotic journeys that are off the beaten track. Since 2004, Richard has managed several Private Jet charters and numerous other journeys for Captain's Choice.

Jo Taylor

Jo’s favourite travel quote is “I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list” – Susan Sontag. And with 70 countries successfully traversed, she is well on her way. Hard-pressed to pick a favourite, Jo says that each destination has been a great source of enjoyment for different reasons. Joining the team in 2007, her attention to detail ensures guests get the most from their journey. One of her standout moments on tour was witnessing aurora borealis in Inari, within Finnish Lapland.

Dee’s motivation for joining Captain’s Choice was the variety of destinations and experiences on offer. The opportunity to meet so many amazing people over the past 18 years, though, has proven to be even more valuable. Having travelled to more than 90 countries, Dee believes the contrast of local discoveries with world-renowned restaurants and privately chartered transport during a Captain’s Choice journey makes for a refreshing experience. Her favourite destinations are Croatia’s Plitvice Lakes National Park and Rwanda.

Tour Manager - Antony Philip

Antony Philip

Antony is an avid traveller, having lived in at least 10 countries and visited more than 170 countries and territories to date. He has extensive experience leading groups around the world as a Tour Manager. When not working, Antony spends most of his time discovering new places and returning to old favourites, all while indulging his passion for travel photography. A helicopter flight over the Okavango Delta with Captain’s Choice is one of many memorable moments experienced on tour.

Vicky Bryant

Vicky loves meeting new people and believes that forming fond friendships and forging treasured memories are the best outcomes of travelling with Captain’s Choice. Having travelled to more than 70 countries, she can’t choose a favourite destination, as each country offers its own unique experiences. A highlight from her travels with Captain’s Choice was seeing “The Gathering” of elephants in Sri Lanka, as well as its tea country.

Roger Byrne

Roger has worked in the aviation and travel industry for more than 40 years. His love of travel began while working with iconic airline Pan Am. Roger has travelled to over 55 countries and also spent time in Kuwait and Qatar during his aviation career. His favourite destinations include Iran, Jordan, Ireland and Poland, while he also spent time in Western Front locations in north-eastern France and Belgium. A keen golfer and sailor, Roger’s mantra is ‘experiences over possessions’.

Greg Fitzgerald

Greg Fitzgerald

Greg has worked in the travel industry for 40 years and has visited at least 75 countries. A former Captain with Qantas Airways, he has completed more than 30 flights to Antarctica as a pilot or lecturer, more recently with Antarctica Flights. In addition to his role as a Captain’s Choice Tour Manager, Greg has been an expedition team member and lecturer on Expedition Cruise ships and also works as a Tour Manager aboard a heritage tourist train in NSW. One of his favourite travel experiences was hot air ballooning in Cappadocia.
